Time to Clean Out and Organize

Some designers and fiber artists have a studio. A place where they work and store their supplies. A happy place where they can be productive. I have always called my place the Yarn Room. I just got this room a few years ago when my youngest son moved out into the real world. I love my little space. Everybody in my family understands the Yarn Room - the place where most of the yarn lives!

I have a nice standing desk with a fast computer for my publishing software and a great big (in my opinion) monitor where a can see multiple documents at once. I have cubbies for yarn, bookshelves, swift and winder, a big, when I need it to be big, table for blocking. There are blues and greens, and clean white, with a nice cushy rug that feels good when you are barefoot.

I like to be in this place, so I am puzzled as to why I let it get so messy. That is not really true. I know that sometimes I am too busy or lazy to put things away. I probably need to cull the stash a bit or at the very least, reorganize it. I decided I would move the furniture around to make things look and function a little better, and while I was at it, I would get rid of the junk and get the things that I need into a good working order. I am not there yet.

Needless to say, I still have some work ahead of me, but I will share the “after” picture once the job is complete.
